Guideli platform

The Problem

Preparing a US immigration petition (EB-1, EB-2 NIW, O-1) typically takes three to four months. The process involves gathering evidence, drafting personal statements, coordinating between the applicant and their legal team, and producing documents that meet a high evidentiary bar. Most of that time is spent in back-and-forth, not in actual preparation.

The Role

I joined as the founding product designer, responsible for design direction from the earliest stages through to implementation. That meant defining the product's visual language, building the component library, mapping the full application workflow, and producing screens for both the immigrant-facing and attorney-facing sides of the platform.

Guideli user flows

The Product

The core flow works through structured questions. Applicants answer prompts about their background, qualifications, and goals. The platform uses those responses to generate the documents a petition requires: the petition letter, recommendation structure, and proposed endeavor statement. The interface had to make a high-stakes legal process feel structured without making it feel clinical.

The Impact

Application preparation time dropped from three to four months to under 45 minutes for users going through the platform. That reduction comes from eliminating unstructured back-and-forth and giving both applicant and attorney a shared, organised workspace where the process moves in one direction.
