Geco Tribe

The Problem

Geco Tribe's website was originally built on Canva. It did the job of existing online, but it couldn't keep up with a brand that spans cafés, a garage, a wash, expeditions and a busy calendar of events. Events were pushed out to third-party ticketing sites, so the moment someone became interested, they were sent away from Geco Tribe to finish the journey somewhere else.

The Goals

Two things drove the project. First, bring events home: the site should host, store and show Geco Tribe's own events instead of outsourcing them to event platforms. Second, redesign the site to a level that matches the energy of the brand, with a proper structure for the cafés, the shop and the wider collective.

The Role

I led the UX/UI design, from structure and flows through to the final interface. I also helped build part of the frontend, and after the product was built I stayed on to work through the fixes and refinements that took it from shipped to polished, the version that is live today.
